VINTAGE LAMPS | UNIQUE POINT OF VIEW

Norah lamp versus The rag and the bone man

Today we bring you a little bit of vintage, two outcomes of London Design Festival: The Rag and the Bone and Delightfull.

The Rag and Bone Man: Pieces of British Industrial History

The Rag and the Bone Man brings “vintage eccentric” to the Design world with pieces made of steel, among other materials. The method he uses to find the material to make them is unique: he searches for remains of vintage engineered machines and outmoded modern metal parts that make up scraps of British industrial history.

Chandelier made of aluminium as it part of a 1930’s radial engine. The chandelier arms are made from Copper.

Paul Firbank, the designer and maker of The Rag and Bone Man launched is first collection of lighting and furniture at Tent during the London Design Festival 2011. His first show led him over this first year to work with private individuals: interior designer, artists, architects and collectors.

Delightfull: Jazz Inspired Pieces

The other brand that is showing it’s potential to the world this year is Delightfull. This brand brings you unique vintage lamps with names of jazz/soul/blues artists.

Diogo Carvalho, the head designer of this brand, introduced his designs to London at the 100% Design 2012, in September.  He’s goal is to design lighting with the calmness of the jazz melody and bring that to homes interiors.

Here we show the Amy Table lamp and the Turner Table lamp. But there’s a full lighting collection to see at www.delightfull.eu .
