The new Jaguar F-Type, one the crown jewels of British automobile engineering, made its full public debut in Paris last night, complete with a ‘Lana Del Ray on bonnet’ shot, ahead of its unveiling at the Salon Paris Motor Show this weekend.
The star performed live at the launch, as well as posing for a set of stunning shots with the sleek new car. The star performed a new track at the Jaguar launch, ‘Burning Desire’, which is taken from the re-release of her Born To Die album.
But turning our heads fully to the new F-Type, it is being billed as the modern-day heir to the ultra-iconic E-Type. An all-aluminium, front-engined, rear-wheel drive convertible, it will come in three different models, which will be powered respectively by Jaguar’s new 3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol engine and its 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol engine.
The range-topping F-TYPE V8S will reach 60mph in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 186mph. Everything looks well set to put Jaguar back on the world map as a producer of sports cars that tick all the boxes.
On sale next summer, prices expected to be from £50,000.
